Repair Of An Artificial Rock Waterfall

We’re here to assist you in maintaining your artificial rock waterfall or swimming pool waterfall if you’re lucky enough to have one. Waterfalls add beauty to any pool, but they don’t remain indefinitely. If your waterfall needs to be fixed or recolored, don’t hesitate to get in touch with us. Pool rock work is prone to wear and tear, and colors and finishes fade over time. We can help if your waterfall was built with gunite or shotcrete and doesn’t look as intended. Our staff can retexture your waterfall to make it seem more appealing and natural.

If your waterfall has never worked correctly, Spring Pools and Spas is also here to help. Many pool companies construct waterfalls incorrectly, but we can correct this. Rain and pool water can cause waterfall components to corrode, and fake rocks can break and fall apart. Large rust streaks might also emerge along the pool’s side. If you’re having any of these problems, don’t hesitate to get in touch with us to see what we can do to help.

Features Of Coloring

If your pool has finally created rock features, our staff can assess their present state and assist you in preserving them using concrete staining and restoration processes. While some homeowners believe that fading color and sealant add to the natural appearance of their pebbles, proper care is necessary to ensure the integrity and durability of your pool investment. Fractures and fissures in stones must be repaired to ensure the longevity of your rock feature. It’s critical to discover and manage problems early on before they become more serious, just as it is with other concerns like calcium accumulation in your pool. Our weekly pool service prevents problems from arising in the first place and detects them early on if they occur.

Other Refurbishing Services

With a range of procedures, we can restore the appearance of your pool’s rock features. We can make your rock features look fantastic while also ensuring that they are structurally strong and will survive for many years, even in the sun. Take a look at some of the pool rock work refurbishment services we may provide:

Artificial Rock Repainting – Your rock water features should look wonderful for the first five years. However, UV radiation from the sun and rain, and pool water degrade the color of the rock over time. Rocks painted in brighter hues, such as browns, golds, and greens, fade faster than those painted in subdued tones, such as grays or cremes. It’s time to arrange a repaint if you detect white effloresce running down or bursting out of your rocks. While the white, chalky powder may appear to be an aesthetic concern, it is frequently a symptom of moisture incursion from beneath the rock.

Fake Rock Repair – If the artificial rocks in your pool have major fractures or breaking, it’s time to call us for help. We can also help you if you see corroded rebar, concrete deterioration, plumbing leakage, or other aesthetic concerns. Reshaping, resizing, repainting, and edging are some of the techniques we may use to make your rock features more attractive.

We can also handle seepage at rock joints, water loss with no visible fractures, damage to the rock surface in the watercourse region, calcium deposits in mortar joints, and customized rock work, among other things.

Repairing An Artificial Rock Waterfall

Our firm has restored and recolored countless waterfalls throughout our many years in operation. The majority of these repairs, particularly those involving the color and final texture of artificial rock waterfalls, are necessitated by “wear and tear” over time, as well as poor or old-fashioned construction methods.

Do you have a gunite or shotcrete waterfall that seems unnatural or like a giant pile of concrete with some gouges or lines etched across it? We can retexture your waterfall using patterns we’ve created from genuine rock formations! Our method will make your waterfall watertight and seem much more appealing and natural.

We will first advise you on the best course of action to follow, which may or may not include employing us. If you decide to employ us, be assured that we are licensed, insured, and stand by our work! We have a long list of satisfied clients who can offer references.

Waterfalls In Swimming Pools

Some swimming pool owners are having problems with an artificial rock waterfall that is an important element of their pool. Sadly, many of these waterfalls were constructed poorly.

Typically, steel rebar was used to build the pool waterfalls, which were then coated with a metal lathe before a thick layer of gunite (sand, portland cement, and water combination sprayed out of a hose under high pressure) was applied. The issue with this widely used procedure is that the metal lathe attached to the exterior of the produced rebar prevents the gunite from properly encasing it. Rain or pool water flowing over the metal lathe when the waterfall is running rusts it away after a few years, leaving the gunite without sufficient structural support.

The fake gunite rocks are prone to breaking and can eventually fall apart. This situation becomes considerably more troublesome if any fake rock is below the pool’s water level. The steel rebar within them corrodes quickly due to being immersed all of the time, and huge streaks of rust form along the edge of your pool soon after.

Another issue we’ve seen with swimming pool waterfalls is where a coating (or layers) of cement that looks like home stucco was poured over the gunite and then textured in some way. Often, a strong bond between layers is not achieved, caused by not dampening the surfaces to which the cement layers are applied. If the weather is hot and dry, as it often is in Southern California, delamination of the artificial rocks can be exacerbated throughout the construction phase and beyond.

Whether we’re talking about the backyard or the front yard, the structure is the starting point for a great-looking yard. Retaining walls, patios, outdoor fires, and walkways are among the services we provide. We will construct something that will last using only the greatest quality materials available on the market and our best craft. We will collaborate closely with you to fully comprehend your objectives.
